Ysgol Cymerau is part of Gwynedd’s Healthy Schools Scheme that is run by the Welsh Government and Public Health Wales. The scheme operates in partnership with Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board and Gwynedd Council.
The aim of the scheme is to encourage schools to promote and foster the health and wellbeing of pupils, staff, and the wider community. The scheme covers areas that present aspects of Health and Wellbeing under the following headings:
- Food
- Active School / Physical Activity
- Mental and Emotional Health and Wellbeing
- Personal Development and Relationships
- Use and Misuse of Substances
- The Environment
- Safety
- Hygiene
